Legacy Equipment Parts
Reverse Engineering Obsolete Components
A food processing facility faced production shutdown when a critical conveyor component failed. The original manufacturer had discontinued the part 15 years ago, and no replacements were available.
Using 3D scanning and CAD reconstruction, we reverse-engineered the failed component and printed it in food-safe PETG. The replacement was installed within 72 hours of initial contact, preventing an estimated $50,000/day in production losses.
We now maintain a digital inventory of critical spare parts for this client, enabling same-day printing of any component when needed. This approach has eliminated their dependency on legacy part suppliers.
